Composite Armour is a patented, woven blend of 3 tough fibres, DuPont™ Kevlar®, Carbon Fibre and Basalt Fibre. When combined and strategically embedded within Vinyl Ester Resin-reinforced fibreglass, they form a composite matrix of structure and strength designed to leverage stability against external pressures. Bulletproof vests, military vehicles, wind turbines, and various aerospace vehicles all owe credit to the incredible forces of these fibres.

First introduced to the Australian market over 20 years ago, AquaGuard Gelcoat provides excellent UV, blister and chemical resistance. Resin is the most concentrated ingredient in a fibreglass pool shell, compromising almost 70% of the makeup. As a superior alternative to standard polyester resin, Vinyl Ester Resin is less sensitive to ambient conditions, creates a better bond between layers, is less likely to show stress cracking, and leaves fewer open cavities within its molecular chain to trap and house water within the laminate. 

The integrated features of every fibreglass Leisure Pool are core reinforced with additional Composite Armour™ inserts, resulting in a pool that feels incredibly solid under every step, splash deck and bottom. The same-give-take flexibility makes these pools capable of accommodating the Earth’s natural swelling and contracting process. All thanks to the increased flexural and tensile strength of Composite Armour™.

The construction of a Leisure Pools begins with a simple conceptual drawing. Their master carpenters then turn this idea into a full-size wooden pool with a precise cast mold. The team then wheel the mold over to the fibreglass laminators, who construct a composite fibreglass pool shell around it. 

Quality control measures include batch testing of raw materials for flexural and tensile strength, cure percentages, barcoal hardness, burn and boil limits, and thickness inspections in precise locations on every manufactured shell.
